About us.

Anni Crofut and Mel Maliki spent many years living and working in Bali. Much of their time was spent scouring the island for compelling designers whose vision of fairly traded and artistic hand-made sterling silver jewelry matched their own. The designers they now collaborate with are from all over the world – Italy, Switzerland, Canada, Argentina, Indonesia, and the US. Anni herself began her design career in Bali, and her work forms a part of the collection. SILVER TWIST’S COLLECTION is vibrant, inspired, high quality, and affordable. Each designer collaborates intimately with individual Balinese silversmiths in small home-industry environments under fair-trade conditions. This collaboration allows for a blending of eastern and western aesthetics and skills. Each piece transcends cultural definitions, is wearable, distinctive, unusual, and reflects an exceptional artistic vision. Silver Twist’s necklaces, pendants, earrings, rings and bracelets incorporate recycled silver, semi-precious gems, shell, pearls and wood. Each unique piece is hand-made using traditional Balinese silversmithing techniques ranging from filigree to granulation to casting. Unique clasps and intricate technical details give each piece hand-crafted character. We offer our jewelry through parties, shows, fundraisers, on-line and individual sales, and at select retail stores.
